This year's District Conference was held
at the Four Points Sheraton in Leominster, May 5-7. The Northborough
Rotary Club came home a double winner. Pat Doyle accepted an award for
Third Best Club (we lost to Framingham and runner-up Brookline), quite
a distinction for a small club. Here's a photo taken by Rotarian Joe
Fusco of Pat accepting the award, with District Governor Roy Gilbert,
and RI General Secretary Ed Futa from Hawaii, on May 5:
Pat was also one of the few Rotarians to receive a Service Above Self
award (you can see that below), so it was a great conference for Pat
and the Northborough Rotary Club. As for the rest of the conference,
the photos below show a good mix of serious business, music (the Early
Act kids from Auburn were fabulous -- congrats to them, their teachers,
and their director, Beth Johnson), hokem, and education. Next year's
conference will be at the Boxborough Holiday Inn May 18-20. So, book it.
