Rotary Club meeting at West Side Grill on Tuesday, September 12th
The guest speaker, Patty Sevaies, with Homewatch Caregivers, shared information
about a VA pension allowing money for home care for veterans. Who knew?
Those eligible are vets, of course, who have served in the Military during war times.
An honorable discharge is a requirement as well. Obviously there has to be a medical
component. Coverage is provided for a
non-service related disability if accident or illness occured while a veteran. The medical
criteria is if there is a need for assisted living and/or the person can no longer drive.
Financially there is a cap on liquid assets but no upper income limits. Also this
aid does not count against Medicaid. There is a lot of unused monies for this pension
plan...so it is a good thing Patty is getting the word out.
Question. When is a guest not really a guest but is guesting. When it is Ken Hergert.
Everyone glad to see him.
If you weren’t at the meeting, next time ask Bruce Bender how was lunch !
APPLEFEST. Big week-end. Set up Friday, tonight, at 5 pm. Look for Ken Golden.
It will not rain!
Bandy-Heffler visitors will be welcomed at Mottle’s on the 30th. Might take them
to the fund raiser “carnival” for Cindi Cantino that afternoon. Be part of supporting
one of our club members during a tough time. Just a thought, Fred.
Reminder: http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/11403/ for Cindi’s helpers.
Ambassadorial Scholars will be at Sturbridge host next week-end. Check Cheryl Owoc
for details.
Gemini wine testing fund raiser on October 20th at Hoagland Pincus center;. Tickets
are $25. Cyndy Rondeau is one to see for same.
Club Assembly on Tuesday, the 19th.
Have a great time at Applefest. There is an old Turkish proverb that says,
No road is long with good company. And that is something our Northboro Rotary
Club is full of...good company.
