August 29 meeting is at Indian Meadow. We will be hearing from a RYLA student.
SEPTEMBER 5th GO TO THE WEST SIDE GRILL. yes, we are going back to
where we came from, formerly Tweed’s. On that date we will have guest speakers;
Paul Riggieri, Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Candy Sczymanski, Chief Operating
Officer discussing the capabilities of Marlboro Hospital.
The following Tuesday, September 12th , Patty Sevaes will address VA aid.
Our guest speaker at the August 22 meeting was Laurie Bender. She presented valuable
information about the File of Life. This is an informational sheet that is useful to seniors in
case of 911 emergency calls. EMT’s take the patient...not the pocketbook, not the
glasses but they will take the red envelope off the refrigerator that list the patients meds
and medical history plus who to call. The Elder Community Collaborative of Marlboro
informs and makes available these sheets through Senior Centers and pharmacies
extending beyond Marlboro to the boroughs that use Marlboro Hospital.
Updates: Andy Dowd shared heartfelt thanks from Sharon Berube for our concern and
support for her and Cindi.
Ken Golden and Applefest on the street. 3/4 booths filled. Sign up sheet went around.
Just a thought: The road that is built on hope is more pleasant to the traveler than the
road built on despair, even though they both lead to the same destination.
Marion Zimmer Bradley said it. I say, keep hoping.
Doing good the Rotary way
And then I wrote.....
Tuesday is the deadline for donating to the Katrina fund. Remember there is a
TEN to ONE match by FEMA. Your ten dollars equals ONE HUNDRED !
$10 = $100. These dollars will furnish learning necessities for school children...
computers and books will be in the school library. Compared to their next-to-nothing...think about how rich we are ! Jean Bianchi will take your donation and
add it to the check.
