Lunch at Indian Meadow Tuesday and for the time being.

Here is the hot news  or  news hot off the keyboard.   A club assembly with many thanks
and awards and sur-prizes and birthdays and stuff.

We welcomed Ted Nader formally back to our club and Fred Mottle pinned him during
the installation.  Welcome, Ted.

AG Steve Sager awarded Cheryl Rosen a Paul Harris fellowship.  Good show !

Jean Langley received a presentation by Skip Doyle of our Literacy grant in the form
of a check for which she thanked us.  New language materials and tapes will be put
to good use she said.

Stephan Georgeson, Pastor at Rice Memorial Baptist Church, visited and is a prospective
member of our club.

Addison was not with us to start the birthday songs.  So Prudence Bean and Doris Walsh
and Jean Bianchi spoke up and they got their “happy” song.   It worked so well for
Prue that she not only had the raffle number...she “aced” it and won the jack pot.  Wow !
The anniversary couple are Pat and Skip Doyle.
APPLEFEST:  There is a general meeting of sub-committees; street, parade, pizza and
raffle,  at the Doyles house August 1st at 6 pm.  This is an open meeting so if you have
any ideas and are interested do join in.   Ken Golden advised us that street fair is 60%
booked.  He is considering another mailing.  Club member are welcome to promote the
spaces.   The Town/ Recreation  has applications.   He will make available a running
list to avoid duplication of requests.
BEST CLUB AWARD criteria will be made available to all.  We were third last year even
though we know we are #1 material.   It is stressed, however,  that if dues are not paid
within the District/RI structure the club will lose 500 points.    Start saving up !
THANK YOUs  from  the Mass. Vet Shelter;  the RYLA students;  the Destination
Imagination team for the brownies that they sold to help finance their trip;  and to
Doris Walsh for her RYLA efforts.

The game is with Baltimore.  Tickets $25 each in the left field grandstand family section.

There are speaker slots open for August 1st and 8th.  Club Assembly the 15th.
August 22  Laurie Bender talking about the File of Life,  and August 29th we will have
one, perhaps two of our RYLA students sharing their experiences.   Jeff Dale and Michelle
Wheeler are the speaker designates...hey,  each do a vocational and you are all set !
Thats it for now.  All I can think of to say is  ‘KEEP COOL’.
