BOARD MEETING, Tuesday, the 25th. POLICE STATION 8 AM.
LUNCHEON MEETING; INDIAN MEADOW GOLF CLUB 12:15 pm.
The man in the wings, Ron Goodenow, tried out the President role in Mark Leahy’s
absence and did a fine job. Addison Redfield continues to his “fine” job on practically
eveybody, including himself ! It was a fine meal. Fine company as always.
Plus a fine slide show and fine stories by a fine, traveling Rotarian ! Fine, already !
You really had to be there and/or a video would work to appreciate the photographs,
the descriptions, the sagas, the gestures and the enthusiastic joy of Cheryl Owoc
recounting her GSE, Group Study Exchange, trip to Brazil. There were many
Rotary recognitions whether it was a soy festival or a visit with an all women
Rotary Club. Cheryl noted that they applaud their flag. A particular observation
Cheryl mentioned was that there was no focus on elders, no active council on aging.
Along the way was seen/visited ? a school named for Paul Harris, saw an amethyst
mine; a John Deere factory; the world’s longest longitudinal falls and so much more.
She visited twenty Rotary Clubs and was hosted by eight families at different times during
her month long Brazilian adventure. This was Cheryl’s first presentation and she is
obligated to do, how many more ? Nineteen , I think. So many more Rotary Clubs
will be enjoying GSE in Brazil. Obrigada, Cheryl.
Our guests for the tour were Ted Nader, no longer a “former” Rotarian, and
Gary Cooper, who has expressed an interest in becoming one.
