Happy Fifth !   Didn’t it seem odd to go past a Tuesday without a Rotary luncheon
meeting !  But  now ?  OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE AT THE POLICE STATION
...thats Tuesday, the 11th, at 12:15.  It is directed that we park in the rear parking lot near
the ballfield and enter via the front door.

At our previous June 27th meeting at Tom’s Gourmet Market, Pat Doyle rang her last
presidential bell closing the meeting.  There was a plethora of Rotarians as well as Ted
Nader and Frank Dubois from the Worcester Club.

Pat was proud of  the club turnout at the RYLA week-end and praised the focus and
behavior of the young people involved.   Mark Leahy added how impressed he is with the
program and that if we wanted to be reassured about the quality of today’s young we just
had to have observed those in the RYLA activities.

Our vocational speaker,  John Kreiss, the main man in his Design/Construction
Recruitment Firm, MorganSullivan,  focusing on  Management Consulting & Executive
Coaching.  John  stressed benefits of learning from each one of his jobs,  incuding public
relations,  marketing, the value of positioning and networking and benefiting from the
observations of departmnt heads and bosses.   While in Hartford, CT, through the Junior
Chamber of Commrce, John was a mentor to High School kids.  Northboro has been
home to John and his wife and young daughter for six years now....well, maybe two and a
half for his little girl.  Not content with a degree in psychology from Rutgers, John is now
in the process of getting that MBA from Bentley.

Club Business:   the revised By-Laws were amended and approved.  Copies will be
distributed to club members.

Since we last met Bruce and Laurie Bender had an anniversary on June 29th and the
Pembers on July 1st.
July birthdays include Prudence Bean  =  July 25.
                                 Doris Walsh      =  July 27
                                 Jean Bianchi      =  July 30
Anniversaries:            Cynthia & Elaine    July 22
                                 Pat & Skip            July 27
Mark Leahy’s e-mail to you all gave you a sense of the wonderful evening celebration for
his installation with thanks extended to many by Pat Doyle and the passing of the
Ken Hergert “pooh bah”  helmet to our new President.   A special ‘Jimminy Cricket
Award”  went to Skip Doyle.  When you see him,  just whistle !  Our Rotarian of the Year
is George Pember...well deserved.  And we welcomed a new honorary member,
Faye Lessner.  Good show !
The answer to the the question is, “I don’t know.”     See you Tuesday.
As someone, somewhere said...”Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of
shape.”
