Rotary up-date from December 18, ‘07
No. Auld acquaintances be not forgotten...here is the newsletter and
Happy New Year. It’s been awhile.
First: BOARD MEETING Jan. 8th at 8 am at Adam Winter’s office.
Also our guest speaker at Jan. 8 meeting will be Ed Lindquist from the Worcester
Sharks...should be cutting edge.
January 29th Mike Razza, a history buff, will be speaking about a Civil War battle
in Virginia in 1864.
While on the subject of guest speakers,February “getters” are Adam Winter and
Ken Golden. You might want to consider someone from Cub Scout Pack 55. They
have been officially re-chartered and are one of our club’s long time supported
organizations Also you might want to consider GlennKessler, PHD, local psychologist
and recent author of a book entitled, When bad golf happens to good people”. Glenn
has his office in town. Just a thought or two.
Also, while thinking is on the agenda, following are January birthdays. But first ! Perhaps
while toasting in the New Year you remembered to toast a Happy Birthday to Mark
Leahy. Cheers !
- January 6 for Ed King, guest speaker getter extrodinaire.
- January 7 for Steve Georgeson AND Ron Goodenow.
- January 17 for Cynthia Maybeck.
COMING UP:
January 23 at 6:30 at White Cliffs. This is an “attract some new members” event.
So invite some one (or two) persons whom you feel might embody the spirit of
Rotary and Service above Self and community. Come anyway so guests will see
the type of persons who are members of our Club. Wear your pin.
Now for our last meeting on December 18, our “extinguished” (you had to be there) guest
was Larry McLoid. Cheryl Owoc involved us all in some fun holiday trivia stuff and
oh no! we sang some carols. Commented on great holiday party at the Winter’s.
And the brisket was praised so much...thats praised not braised... that the recipe has
since been shared. Thanks, Adam.
