It is Friday, December 1st.   Sad news to relate that Sharon Berube’s life partner passed
away this morning.    Arrangements are as yet incomplete but information will be in
the newspaper probably tomorrow about Cindy Catino’s funeral.   Sometimes there is no
ready answer to the question, “why?”.

Apologies to Jean Nader for exposing her victim-witness pseudonym, Nadeau...oops, did
it again.  Anyway, do come again soon and we will pretend we don’t know.   Was good to
see your cheery face.
Surprise, surprise...lighting up the place was Bonny Duggan, aka Marilyn Munroe.
Unfortunatly  no one had an immediate birthday.   Should you want to stay in touch with
Bonny in Florida, she gave permission to include her e-mail as follows:
Bonnylee21@aol.com.   If you want to send a holiday/Christmas card her address is:
PObox 488, Williston, FLA, 32696.

While you are thinking good thoughts please think about the fact that $125 will clothe,
provide lunch and school materials for ONE YEAR for a Haitian student.  How many
cups of coffee could you give up...or one month of wine ...just speaking for myself !
I know we are asked for money for many things...all worthwhile...but this certainly is a
longterm investment for the  future of children.  Barbara King is the one to give your
check made out to the Haitian Apostilate  (check the spelling first !).

Our guest speaker was Mohsen Mahmoud, proprietor of Lil M’s Mart in the Times
Square Mall in Northboro since l990.   Mr. Mahmoud shared some of his life experiences
prior to coming to this country.  He was a professional soccer play for 8 years in Egypt.
He graduated from a Military Academy in Egypt and was in the army for 12 years during
the assasssination of Anwar Sadat.  Mr. Mahmoud and his family had 45 days of trying
times attempting to immigrate to the US, and he highly praised the support they received
from the American Embassy and American Consulate in effecting what really amounted to
an escape.  The only person he knew in America was his brother...in Worcester...so here
they are.  Mr. Mahmoud is, and has been, waiting for his name to be cleared from “the
list” effected by Homeland Security.  We can help by contacting Mr. McGovern and
bringing attention to the situation.

This Tuesday, Dec. 5, is the deadline for getting your Glavin Center gifts to Doris Walsh.
The party is the 11th.
Another party is the 16th...a holiday get-together at Fred and Holly Mottle’s...details to be
shared soon...but save $10.
The date for the Pancake Breakfast is March 11.  Adam Winter will keep us apprised.
Tune up for two birthdays this coming week.   Mark Lessner is the 7th  and  Barbara King
is the 9th.   And I didn’t forget that we had another guest,  Paul McGrath, Westboro Club.

A final thought, a quote from Jaques Prevet:
“Even if happiness forgets you a little bit,  never completely forget about it .
