Barbara King introduced the guest speaker,  Russell Garrett, who is the artistic
director of Foothills Theatre Company.  He is two years into this role, having come
from an actiing career and passion for the theater since high school.  He likes the
total involvement as opposed to acting...where in this role he can be more creative
and have more of a say!    One interesting observation he made is that theater is
now competing for peoples free time with ipods, computers and such.  He likes
encouraging young people into the many facets of the theater such as sound,
lights, sets, costumes as well as acting.   The demands are amazing as the company
does not have much rehersal time for on-going productions...two weeks to start with the third week on stage and the fourth week with the audience.
This season is complete and he is now working on next year looking for balance of
presentations and popularity of musicals with dramas.   Foot Hills is a class act...
(pun intended).

In other business, Skip made a formal presentation of a Paul Harris pin to former
club president, Mark Leahy.

Burroughs meeting got lost in the maze and was canceled due to low sign ups.
Disappointing for Steve Georgeson who toiled to put the event together.

November 8 is the Foundation dinner.   You should have received an email regarding
registering on line and giving the money $30 to Cheryl Rosen.

Bruce Bender turned in three Rotary club flags from his trip to England.

Nancy Berglund put the sting to all present regarding participation for the up-coming
Community Spelling BEE.   It is Friday, November 16th at Proctor school again.
The teams are signing up...don't be afraid to contact your business friends for a
corporation sponsorship.

That's it, Will...don't know about birthdays, etc.
