Northboro Rotary welcomed District Governor, Suzanne Comer (Westwood) on Tuesday, October 10th.   Accompanying her was Steve Sager, ADG.  Suzanne came bearing gifts as well as words.  We now have our handsome "Lead the Way" banner and each of us around the table now have a pin as well as a bracelet hyping Salt Lake in 2007.  Suzanne encouraged all of us to be examples of the power of Rotary...wear our pins, invite someone to join Rotary...indeed, lead the way !  She stressed the Foundation.   Ambassadorial Scholars.   Group Study Exchange coming up for Egypt.
Closer to home there is the Habitat challenge in Fitchburg.  Once the trees are down and hole is dug the completion goal is June 18th !  Suzanne is ready from her hard hat to her tool belt.  It was an informative, encouraging visit.  She has made it to forty-four clubs so far.  Good luck.

At our board meeting that morning Cheryl Owoc made known her bid for District Governor for 2009-2010 and was supported by a 100% approval of the board.

COMING UP this Friday October 20 is the Blood Drive from 1 to 7 PM.  Many hands are needed so check that sign up list.  Also Friday in the evening is the Gemini wine sipping at Hoagland Pincus Center.
October 27 the Historical Society celebrates 100 years and a visit from Teddy Roosevelt !  Oh yes...charge !
November 4th is UN Day...take a tour, see what goes on. $30.  Check with President Mark.     Spelling BEE is Nov. 17th...the buzz is on.

Wednesday, November 8th is the Foundation Forum dinner at Double Tree Inn.
THIS WILL TAKE THE PLACE OF OUR REGULAR TUESDAY MEETING.   The cost is $25, however, we each pay our regular $15 and the club will take care of the $10.
Lets make a giant club showing of committment and support.   (we get points !)

SPEAKING on the 17th will be Ann Taggert and Adam Wintger describing the Home Safety Network.      October 24 will be Dick Vaughan, President of the Sturbridge
