On 7/10/2007 Northborough rotary welcomed Frank Dubois from the Worcester club as our guest and we had the installation of new member Sue Darling. Sue was sponsored by Pat and Skip Doyle, so it's a given she will be a great addition to our club. Sue is a lifelong resident of Dudley MA and she is currently the Asst. Branch Manager of a Central One Federal Credit Union branch. Sue has been in the banking industry since 1983 (wow, who remembers 18% CD's!), she has been married 37 years and has 2 boys and 3 grandchildren.
New Club President Ron Goodenow spoke about "gentle delegation" and mentioned that Addison will continue as Sgt.-in-arms (who else can make you laugh while taking your money?), Mike Wheelock will be the "Social Chairman", so he buys the first round whenever we gather for drinks and Steve Georgeson was given the communist title of "Committee Czar", which sounds sort of like the drug czar and we all know how well the War on Drugs has gone. Good luck to Steve.
Jean Bianchi mentioned that dues are coming in nicely, which reminds me that I have got to pay mine and if any others are like me, lets Get-R-Done. Jean also informed us that Rotary International dues are rising and the bill for District dues has already arrived.
Pat Doyle spoke about the Youth Exchange with it's benefits and pitfalls, however all in all it is a wonderful experience for both students and host families. Perhaps next year Northborough Rotary will have the opportunity to accept foreign exchange students.
That's all folks!
