Our guest speaker on June 26th was great. Roy Lucas may be the owner/coach of the "Surge", indoor football team...he may possibly be the "coach of the year", and probably deserves every acolade...and he is a a wonderful motivational speaker.
Roy says, "I am the conduit, not the owner. It's about the people." Roy is proud of ]the fact that 90% of his players have a degrees. They are role models. Roy, as coach, tells them to.."play for the guy next to you...call him your brother, your family."
Coach Lucas quoted one of his role models, John Wooden, who said," a wise person knows that win/lose is a fine line. Take it for what it is." Nice guy, Roy Lucas.
Bet Michelle and Michael Wheelock and Alistair Wheeler were glad to be with us to
not only share the fellowship but hear Mr. Licas.
Cheryl Rosen reminded us about the "Rotary Sharing Fellowship" matching with other Rotarians with similar interests. Oh, Oh...if there is another Rotarian that thinks as I do then there is trouble afoot ! Laughter as healing, and all that. Whoopee.
There are pictures of the Senior Picnic on our website, NorthboroughRotary.org.
Here is how July forms up: July 3...fellowship.
July 10...Michelle Lee
July 17...Club Assembly
July 24..Harvey Varnet
July 31..Angie Boris
Good work Mr. Pember and Mrs. Bean.
The Installation of Ron Goodenow, our new President, was terrific. Deserves it own
acknowledgements...to follow in detail.
Birthdays fall at the end of the month, except for Harry Goodfriend who will be celebrating ? on July 6th. Remember this:
Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon. Oh, Doug Larson, you are so right. !
