Our guest speaker was Dr. Charles Gobron, Superintendent of the No/So Schools..
He has come up through the ranks and knows what he is talking about.   He praised the
School Committees for their committment to quality teachers and low class size in
the best interests of our children.

We should all be proud of the Algonquin Regional High School graduation rate which
is the highest in Central Massachusetts.  Our MCAS,  Mass.Comprehensive Assessment
System,  has no failures.  the English Language Learners are increasing ;and the
Special Ed. students needs are met throughout the system.   Also at the High School level
there are increasing Advance Placement courses..  And every effort is made to meet
every individual need.   The dedicated support staff;  the professional development
opportunities and the collaboration with municipal personnel all come together to
best education our children.

The Fire Fund is still generating.  There were Rotarians at Town Meeting drawing
attention to the effort.   Othere ideas are in the works.
Don’t forget the Senior Center annual senior picnic..It will be Tuesday, June 24 from
5 to 7 at the Marlboro Fish and Game.  We cook and dish.

APPLEFEST Street Fair coming up...September 20th.

Tuning in was Norbert Savard again.

SPEAKER for this Tuesday, 5/6 will be Neal Portnoy...don’t complain !
I understand he is an artist with a good sense of humor.
See you then.
