Is it spring yet?  Of course we Rotarians are always on our toes.
And we need to keep the calendars and palm pilots constantly up-to-date.  To date, the following are goings -on to be aware of...plus always double-check our website,  NorthboroughRotary.org  to be au courant.
An important date to mark right away is June 29th, a Friday, for our new club President, Ron Goodenow's installation.   Tell you where when we know

Antique Appraisal.  Got your tickets to sell:   Get going.   The event is April 10, a Tuesday, at St Rose of Lima Church from 7 to 9:30 pm.  Also, let Pat Doyle know as you sell the tickets as there is a limit on the  $25 per item tickets.
District Assembly is April 14, a Saturday, at Doubletree from 8 am to 2 pm with free food and best club points.
Leadership Institute.  Check with Barbara and Ed King for information.
GSE team arriving April 23rd.  Got a bed ?  We are hosting the team for two nights of their stay.  Check with Pat Doyle.   There are five members on the team.
RYLA scheduled for week-end of June 22nd.  Our club is sponsoring three students this year.  Check with Pat Doyle.  There is room for all of us to be involved.
The District Conference is scheduled for May 18-20.  Registrations up soon.
Are you still with me ?
A signup sheet went around to sponsor Paul Gallagher's daughter who is running in the marathon.   Also talk to Cheryl Rosen if you would like to sign up to gather money along the route.   The spot is in Natick from about 9 to 12 on the day.
A potentially dramatic venture, okay, informative, is utilizing our cable station to share Rotary.  Michelle Gillespie is spearheading this possibility and several members expressed interest in being part of the brainstorming group.
Have you checked the website lately ?  Adam Winter has done a lot of work on it...as has Ron.   The category of "conslutant" has been discontinued !
As you know, we say our Rotary 4-Way Test at every meeting.  If you can't find your plaque of same you can order another from George Pember.   Having this reminder of what we are about is valuable in the office as well as at home.   And a positive way of sharing with others the values we value.
Let's see...where are we?  Not in Salt Lake City !  No one has uttered intent as yet.
Congrats to the Community Dinner gang .   There were forty-one guest enjoying a great ham dinner.
And now...did you think the guests were forgotten ?  No way !  ADG Steve Sager dined as did Sue Darling fron Central One Credit Union sitting in for Joan Day.
And, of course, our guest speakers from the Senior Center.  Kelly Burke, Director;
Jari Anderson, Chair of the Council on Aging and Arlene Marshall the Sr. Center out-reach coordinator.  They took us on part of their journey towards making a new Senior Center a fact.    As Town Meeting approaches there is a concerted effort in
place to make the community aware of the need to go forward.  The current space is woefully inadequate and with the projected numbers of seniors in our town the square footage of the Hudson St. Center will be lacking even more than that recommended by the State.  An important emphasis is that the property on Bear
Foot Road, the former Fish & Game, has been tested and tested and there is NO lead problem on the Senior Center site.
Kelly Burke was presented with a check for the Friends of the Senior Center for the amount of $1000 from the proceeds of  our Spelling BEE.   (If you have your calenders still handy mark off November 16...BEE time again.
This Tuesday there will be a speaker...Dick Cheney talking about open field techniques.  Just kidding...gotta get an April Fool in here somewhere...
In the future we will listen to Kate Wilrich Nordahl, Director of Policy and Research at the Blue Shield/Blue Cross Foundation.
Whew !
If you have any $ on the outhouse sinking you should have known this...
New England rivers thaw sooner, 11 day on average, than they did in l936.  Who knew?  Don't know about lakes and/or ponds.
