BOARD MEETING this TUESDAY, March 20th at 8 am at the Police Station.
Last Tuesday our guest speaker was Jim Ignazio, Ass't VP with MFS Outlook. Some notable note-quotes from his presentation included the following: "International equity is where it's at". In the 70's, 70% of U.S. companies dominated. "Today 62% of investment opportunities are outside of the U.S." When considering where or what for investments, "consider the company, not the country." Consider the long haul..."time...not timing...in the market". "Municipal bonds are better than U.S. Treasury bonds." Keep in mind that in 10 years the market will be all inclusive...not we and/or them. For information (or confirmation) Mr. Ignazio's contact info. will be included in the next newsletter.
Guesting was Cyndy Rondeau's father, Arnold Blethen, a long time Rotarian and past District Governor in New Hampshire.
Many thanks expressed to all by Adam Winter for efforts and involvement for another successful Pancake Breakfast...and the band played on. According to Jean Bianchi our preliminary results equaled last year.
Next, apply all that energy on Wednesday, March 21st for the Community Breakfast. Doris Walsh (we should clone that lady) and Michelle Wheelock are co-chairing the food and all. Cooks should be at Trinity Church mid-afternoon; set-up persons thereafter. Included in the set-up is wrapping that cutlery in the paper napkins. Servers should be on hand 5:30ish. The participants expect that food to be served at 6 pm. For those who can't be present there is something you can do...make cookies and drop them off at the church. Any corrections to the above will be made
this Tuesday at our meeting. March 24th we can sing HB to Pat Doyle.
That's it for March...then there is April !
10th Antique Auction at St. Rose of Lima Church. Pat Doyle has tickets.
14th District Assembly at Double Tree.
23rd the GSE team is arriving.
Skip Doyle< our Foundation Chair, reminded us to be aware of the annual appeal to consider donating another $50 to the Foundation bringing your total to $100.
Now, I don't know who is counting, BUT, according to Yankee magazine, it is 5,
that's five, pints of Guiness that Bostonians consume every second between 6 am and midnight on St Patrick's Day - twice as much per person as New Yorkers.
Do we really care ? And is it green ? Are they ?
