Not from the mine fields in Kuwait...not from the coroner’s office in Florida...
not from the stumps in New Hampshire...but from the sick bed.   Be kind.
You think this is easy ????   Well, it is, and fun, too, as long as you are patient
with the patient.
So...a little stream of consciousness from memories of last Tuesday’s Rotary lunch...
ready ?    Our guest speaker was our own Fred Mottle who was apologetic about not
having gotten a “guest” speaker for the day...but take a bow, Fred.   Your verbal
memoir was much more meaningful than an “outside” speaker.    Accounting has brought
you a long way from West Springfield and now to retirement.  I think we were all
mezmerized by your accounts of your four years in the Air Force as a Morse code “spy”.
in this country and in Japan.  Facilitating that concentration and detail certainly must
account for some your accounting accumen.   “Oh, I forgot to mention my house.” said
you.  “Had to build something to have room for my cars.”   Now the house is on the
market and retirement plans include Florida and the Cape.  The only hitch from our point
of view is that while Fred will still be a Rotarian it will be somewhere else.

We did have a guest although he didn’t speak,  Peter Kachajian, who has law offices
in Northboro.
Adam Winter did speak...reminding us to stay on top of our Pancake Breakfast stuff...
Friday set-up,  baskets, ads.   While I think of it ...someone remember to check with the
custodian at Lincoln Street about those tin cans we used for the basket
raffle.  John is not there anymore.   Publicity should be in the works now.  Cyndy Rondeau
is lookng for someone to take over that role, like now.   Come forth.
Adam also mentioned the next Corridor Nine breakfast...the 22nd...7:15 AM at the
Double Tree(Wyndham) and the cost is $20 per.  No limit on our number  that can attend.
GUEST SPEAKER on the 13th may be from Mass Veterans.  and on February 27th we
will learn about navigating the Healthcare system from Nancy Stossi, RN,BSN. and
Brett Salmonson.    MARCH getters are Mark Lessner and Joan Day...where are you ?
President Mark Leahy shared thank you notes, one from Sister Juliet from the Haitian
Apostolate for our support of five students and one from Michelle Gillespie thanking us
for John’s gift.  John is home, back in school and elated to be at both places.
Birthday boy is Ken Golden on Valentine’s Day, 14th.

BOARD MEMBERS mark your calendars for the 20th.  8 AM  Police Station.

Hopefully I will be able to enjoy lunch on Tuesday.  George Bernard Shaw knew how
it goes...”There is no love sincerer than the love of food!”.
