Remember, there is a BOARD MEETING Tuesday at 8 AM - Police Station.
Our Tuesday Fellowship lunch is a Club Assembly so come and find out what is going on.
And say “hello” again to Dan Moynahan, Northboro Post Master, who has come through
fire and rain, sleet and snow and is back with us.   Welcome back, Dan.

Guesting and speaking was Kevin Sullivan who brought his wife Ellen.   Kevin is a
Bedford Rotarian and, as Pat Doyle described him, he is the man to go to for just about
everything.  With a little help from Ellen it would appear as they have opened their home
on more than one occasion to house families of those receiving open heart surgery through
the Gift of Life Program.  Children, who would not live much beyond 13 years of age
because of a hole in their hearts,  are brought to this country for treatment.  Doctors and
nurses volunteer their time and skills and the hospitals, three here, are paid a token fee of
$5000 for each operation.     There have been 45 cases here over the past 8 years.
The paperword is extensive covering free care  and in some cases the Military asssists.
There is housing for families,  recuperation time and transportation to and from Doctors’
appointments and fund raising...looking for dollars and matching grants.  Today is a gift
which is why it is called the “present”.   Don’t come cheap, through.
Kevin is also the GSE team leader for the Egypt team coming up in April.  He will be
there for a month and we need to be getting ready to host some of the exchangees here.

Adam Winter, co-chair of the Pancake Breakfast with Gary Cooper, advised us that
in conversation with the Principal, Jean Fitzgerald, of Lincoln Street School it will
behoove (isn’t that a great word!) behoove us to plan to set up the Friday evening
prior to the Bkfast thus saving the custodian fee for a Saturday.  So plan on Friday set-up
between 6 and 10 pm..March 9th.  The sponsor lists have been up-dated and the packets
will be distributed, ideally, this Tuesday.   We were reassured we still had our “regulars”.
If March 11 for  the Breakfast is right around the corner then Friday, April 13 cannot
be far behind.   That is the date for the Antiques Auction...more details on which will be
forthcoming as we get closer.  Pancakes first.

Good news about John Gillespie.   He is home.  Will welcome cards.

Birthday coming up on the 17th for Cynthia Maybeck.  Somebody get  Bonny Duggan
back...Fred Mottle has a birthday on the 19th.
Ed King is finalizing speakers for the rest of the month and Fred, Adam and Ken Golden
are on deck for February.  Check with Cyndy Rondeau for any questions or changes.

Another week...another newsletter....a little different each time.
As Bruce Barton said, “When you are through changing...you are through.”  !!
